The long-awaited FENTY Skin has made its way to my sink, and my curiosity levels have peaked through the roof! I have been a loyal FENTY user for some time now. Fenty has earned a permanent spot on my vanity!
So when I heard there was going to be skincare joining the lineup, I knew I had to have it.
If you haven’t caught my post about the launch of the skincare line, you can find it here.
I wanted to share first impressions now that I have the products in my hand and now on my face.
For a great post about Fenty Skincare products add this to your reading list; you’ll learn more about what is in each product!
So lets see how Fenty Skin worked for Oily Skin!
First Impression: the Cleans’r
After reading the description that Fenty Skin had put together for their products, I expected the products to be overly scented. For the cleanser, that wasn’t the case at all.
In contrast, there is a faint scent to it; its nothing that stops you in your tracks.
The Total Cleans’r is a creamy texture that transitions into a nice bubbly consistency. I used I would say a quarter amount, and that was a bit much. I love that, a little goes a long way and will keep more money in the purse.
After rinsing, I noticed my skin was happy. You know that feeling when your face feels super soft, yet super hydrated?
That is the feeling I had, and although I didn’t have makeup on when I washed my face there was still dirt on my face (apparently)
Overall Thoughts
I enjoyed using the Cleans’r, and the scent wasn’t overpowering, which was a plus. The Cleans’r retails at $25 I wanted to share a little on the packaging because it’s worth mentioning.
All products are earth-conscious, and I love the simple packaging.
The Cleans’r is a twist cap that stands face down (if that makes sense). I like this idea because you can get everything out of the tube!
Comparing this to my favorite cleanser of all time (TULA), I would say I still prefer to have my Tula.
The gel texture so far that TULA cannot be beaten for my oily skin.
First Impression: Fat Water
My overall new obsession is a toner serum duo!
If you haven’t read my post about Bliss Clear Genuis yet, you can find it here. I initially ave the clear genius Clarifying Toner + Serum a shot.
Let’s just say I haven’t been able to skip out on it since.
When I saw FENTY was coming out with the same product, I was curious to see what skin-loving ingredients were going to be jammed into the bottle.
Fat Water should be used both day and night after washing your skin. You would apply it like you would a moisturizer.
The texture of the Fat Water is like thick Water. You don’t need a cotton pad to use; simply squeeze into your hand’s palm and apply it to your face. You don’t have to worry about the product slipping all over the place; it’s a thicker consistency.
I want to say this is my second favorite product from the line.
Fat Water feels like it sucks all of the oil from my skin! With that being said, my face was a little tight but super soft after using it.
Overall Thoughts
The Fat Water sunk into my skin quickly and left me with soft pillowy skin.
My pores did look smaller, and the product’s consistency was easy to work into the skin.
Fat Water will leave you with smooth skin no doubt. Fat Water could be used as a makeup primer if you want a super soft canvas.
Back to the scent, this was the least pleasant scent for me.
I still can’t pinpoint what I smell. If I blurted out what I felt when I first applied to my face, would’ve been Carmel popcorn.
When I forced my husband to smell it, he picks up hints of vanilla (more flattering)
The packaging of the Fat Water is my least favorite out of the bunch.
Fat Water also has a twist cap that sits on top of the bottle. I found I needed to use a little force to squeeze the product into my hand.
I’m comparing this The Bliss Clear Genius (which is a cheaper alternative to the Fat Water).
The application was much easier to work with because of the pump.
Overall I have to say I found myself wanting to reach for the Bliss Clear Genius for two reasons. The texture is more of a jelly consistency, and it has a cooling effect on my skin.
Fat Water has ingredients that are sourced from around the world. Which hands down knocks the Bliss Clear Genius out of the game.
As I’m writing this, I’m sitting here with one side of my face with the Fat Water and the other side Bliss. Im curious to see which one performs better, stay tuned!
First Impression: Hydra Vizor

I was most hesitant to try the Hydra Vizor because it is a chemical sunscreen. I always say any sunscreen you will put on is the best sunscreen! Be honest, how often do you throw on sunscreen before you run out the door?
With an SPF 30, this sunscreen is supposed to hydrate your skin and leave you with an invisible shield.
If you want to learn the difference between Chemical and mineral sunscreen, you have to check this post here. (you will see why chemical sunscreens are not ideal)
I want to be honest here; this was my favorite product I used from the line!
Although it is a chemical sunscreen, I loved wearing the Hydra Vizor all day! I live in South Florida, so I cannot escape the sun. On top of that, the humidity is insane, so to find a sunscreen that doesn’t melt off, my face is a keeper.
Hydra Vizor is SUPER scented; it’s the most scented out of the entire skincare line.
However, it’s a delightful scent; it made me feel like I was on an island somewhere about to layout on the beach.
For those who don’t like scent in your skincare products, you may find this product overly scented.
How hydra vizor wore throughout the day
Hydra Visor is impressive. I wore this while running errands with no makeup (something important to note).
My husband pointed out my face looked super greasy like I had been rubbing oil all over my face all day.
The surprising thing is that my face didn’t feel oily to the touch, and I was okay with that. Keep in mind I have super oily skin, so I’m accustomed to having glowing skin.
With that being said, I’m not sure I would want to wear this under makeup, only because I have super oily skin.
I didn’t experience any discomfort while wearing, and it didn’t burn my eyes like most Chemical Sunscreens tend to do.
The packaging on the Hydra Visor is bomb! I wish the entire line had packaging like the Hydra Visor! It’s innovative, and even though it’s earth-conscious, it feels and looks super luxurious! They, Hydra Visor, are also refillable, so when you run out, purchase the refill, and you’re good to go.
Last Thoughts on the FENTY Skin Line

There was definitely thought and love put into these products you can tell by the ingredients used. I stand behind the earth-conscious movement FENTY SKIN is moving towards and hope other skincare brands will join.
The fact that this Skincare line is inclusive of everyone regardless of your sex and race makes this even more exciting and easy to love.
The face that FENTY SKIN decided to release a sunscreen as part of their first line up goes to show they have done the research and understand it’s not just about a cleanser and a toner to have healthy skin.
We have to be proactive regarding protecting our skin, and FENTY Skin has made that achievable.
If you’re struggling to start a skincare routine (because you don’t know what to use or where to start), this is a great starter pack to see what your skin likes and go from there.
If this is only the beginning, I’m looking forward to seeing what else is in the FENTY SKIN pipeline.
When you can get your hands on the line, you will save money if you buy all three, so that is something to consider.
Since all of the FENTY Skin is now on backorder, now is the time to subscribe. You’ll be the first to be notified then the products come back in stock!
